Oiling your summer house

Many people opt to build their own summerhouse, and after the work is complete it’s easy to put the kettle on relax and unwind. That’s only if you’ve oiled it ready for the ever-changing British weather. Oiling is so important because it prevents the oak from decaying, and it offers the best possible protection against wildlife and weather. You should aim to oil your summerhouse every year, ideally in spring so it has time to set for the summer and winter months. You don’t always need to apply a thick coat, just use your best judgment, but by oiling it you will make the summerhouse last longer, look better and feel a whole lot happier. Make sure you’re regularly oiling your summerhouse each and every year because it may just save you a lot of money on repairs in the future, so it’s a worthwhile investment of your time and money.
