Maintaining a good quality lawn

Lawns are considered one of the most important parts of your garden and that’s why maintaining their quality is so important. The quality of grass comes from a mix of length, colour and patchiness, each component requires its own maintenance in order for the overall quality of grass to be good.

Grass quality can be affected by a numerous amount of things, such as pets, weather and even children playing out on it. Discolouration can come from pet urine and faeces, and also from lack of sunlight and water. That said, too much sunlight can burn grass and damage its strands. Same applies with too much water, as you can flood the lawn and cause the roots to drown.

Cutting your lawn once a week will help to create an even grass length over time. Leaving grass too long between cutting will allow the strands to become too long and only the top half of the grass will be a beautiful green colour.
