As November comes to a close and the countdown to Christmas begins, it’s time to start putting up those decorations. Of course, it’s not just the tree, the dancing Santa and the lights that hang above the mirror in the living room, a garden needs decorating too. Without spending a great deal of money it’s possible to create a stunning Christmas garden. Here are some of the items you may want to consider:
Outdoor twinkle lights
These are great when placed in conifers or interweaved between the firm branches of your hedges and mature shrubs.
Christmas Reefs
These tend to be made of plastic flowers with fake berries and seeds like the one below, and they’re great to hang on doors, whether that be your patio door, your shed door or your summer house door.
Candle Lamplights
Another great option if you want to give your garden a festive feel. These are very cheap to buy and easy to light and they make for a nice source of light on evenings in the garden. So they’re pretty much perfect if you’re planning a festive garden party.
Bauble
They look great inside on the Christmas tree but they’ll also go nicely with your outdoor lights. Add them to fences, trees, shrubs and hanging baskets to give your festive garden a touch of colour and sparkle.
Santa Ornaments
Last but not least is Santa. There’s always room for a Santa ornament and you can find lots of them at your local garden store. What’s great about this guy is he only needs to come out for one month every year so you can buy him tomorrow and keep him for the next decade or perhaps even longer if the weather isn’t too harsh for him. He’ll look great beside your shed or summerhouse.
