Herbs have been used for many years solely for the medicinal benefits they provide. In recent years we tend to use herbs for taste but they still very much provide your body with important nutrients and can help with medical conditions.

Herbs are also fairly easy to grow and require minimal space so are perfect for beginner gardeners. We have listed our top 3 herbs you should grow based solely on the benefits they are known to provide.

1. Sage – Sage comes in different varieties and is used to make a variety of medicines. Consuming sage in plant form is said to increase brain function and memory.

2. Peppermint – This herb has quite a history of use in folklore medicine and is known to improve symptoms of IBS and reduce nausea.

3. Fenugreek – This herb although not commonly known is said to improve blood sugar control particularly for people with diabetes.
