If you have a large garden but it’s a little on the dull side, you may want to develop interesting pathways, and this can be achieved with a retaining wall. This type of wall is usually made up of large solid slabs of stone and it’s essentially retaining soil to both sides.
This then gives you the opportunity to have high flower bed borders brimming with trees and shrubs, but of course you need the space to do this. Creating this type of pathway is a time consuming process, and it’s because you have to dig down 2-3 feet all the way along, you can then begin to put the large slabs in place closely together.
Retaining walls can really add style and it’s nice to be able to walk through a garden possessing a jungle like feel, while the pathways can be designed to lead to the main features, whether that’s a children’s play areas a seating area, a summer house or a shed.
