You can find many different bird house designs online and the great news is you do not require a lot of wood or steel to complete the birdhouse. We always recommend that you work with wood compared to metal because it’s safer and requires less expertise and experience when drilling and cutting. It’s important to keep your children engaged during throughout the whole process, so why not start by looking through different designs and find one that you want to replicate. You may be able to find instructions online too, or make it up as you go along. It’s completely up to you.
