Wooden terrace – the benefits

We really like the natural effect you get from having a wooden terrace; this can start to blend in nicely with your garden after a couple of years.

Starting by picking a natural wood, you could even have recovered wood used for the structure, but ensure that it is sound before using it for supporting a roof structure.

Once you’ve had the flooring and the frame built you can start adding your own touches. This may include staining the wood if it requires it or if you want to create a different effect.

Once the frame is all dealt with you can start adding features, perhaps a stove or fire-pit, or if you’d rather, a heat lamp – ready for colder days/evenings.

Adding trellises will help your climbing plants to grow up and around the frames and the roof.  Adding potted plants can be a nice touch, especially whilst you are waiting for climbing plants to grow.

Select your lighting – you might like to have stands for candles, or you might want to have electric porch style lights, or you may go for plain, or colourful outdoor fairy style lights.
